Vintage Paperback Covers
   Volume Two
• Warm Bodies
That's Sally on the cover.  Red hair, blue eyes, green dress, and heels stuck in the deck boards.  You'll have to use your imagination on the warm bodies, though, because there aren't any in the book.  Just what is it about the Navy that makes it so darn wacky?

The British Agent •
I'm not sure which of the blokes getting off the ship is Hombre Secreto.  It's probably not the military guy - too obvious.  Maybe the guy in the women's coat?  The lurking Chinaman?  Oh wait, I know...

• Calamity Jane of Deadwood Gulch
Yas suh! (spit) Ain't she a pistol, though!  Hidin' there behind them rocks with her trusted Indian companion, Favio.  Hey Calam, maybe you oughta try shootin' the other way - at the Indians.

The Young Wolves •
Another couple apparently oblivious to what's going on behind them.  The young wolves are OK, but it was the young wolfette that first caught my eye.  Red is for bad girls, I think.  Nice skirt, too.

• Tough Kid From Brooklyn
Are you a student of body language?  What does the young man seem to be saying?  How does the young lady feel about the way her date is going?  Who's really "working the docks"?

Art Colony •
A great catch from a recent library book sale.  It seems the painter's wife is getting irritated at the way Trixi keeps pretending to slide off that rock.

• The Saucers Are Real
Besides the great colors, this cover has excellent saucers that look a lot like flying pumpkin seeds.  The true story?  They'd like to come and meet us, but they think they'd blow our minds.

The Dreadful Night •
A classic "threatened lady" cover.  In the late 1940's, killers used to walk around with their hands out in front of them like this, and all the ladies would scream.  It sure was dreadful, alright.
