Vintage Album Covers
   Volume Nine

Bonjour Paris - Ah, nothing beats cheesecake for breakfast!  Doinky piano music backed by gushy strings, all recorded in "360 Hemispheric Sound".

Choice cuts: Poor People of Paris, French Can-Can, The Left Bank

Around The World In 80 Days - Cleverly combines the theme of world cities with hot air balloons.  Well maybe not the greatest cover this time, but really delightful music for once.

Choice cuts: Around The World Overture, Passepartout, Invitation to a Bullfight

Latin Escapade - "Music that suggests the darkest corner of a smoky bar..."  Where the girls wear terry cloth dresses trimmed with dingle-berries.  Still this cover would have worked if the couple in the background would have ignored the photographer.

Choice cuts: Watch Your Step, Anitra's Nañigo, Poodle Mambo

Mr. Magoo In Hi-Fi - Look, Magoo is dressed eerily like Thurston Howell III.   (As The Disney said, It's a Strange World After All).  Hip word jazz and cool rhythms from 1956.  Oh Magoo, you've done it again!

Choice cuts: Very Contrary Mary, Le Jazz Warm, The Little Miss Muffed It

Down To Eartha - Deep into her Bad Lady persona by 1955, Eartha strikes a challenging, sexy, and classy pose all in one.  Her voice and delivery must be experienced - seek it out.

Choice cuts: Oh John!, I Wanthca Around, and personal fav, The Heel

An Enchanted Evening - Is it just me or are your eyes drawn to the lady's butt too?  I figure they got that effect by having her sit too far away from the guy to begin with.  Nice work.

Choice cuts: Getting To Know You, Oklahoma, Some Enchanted Evening

Music To Lure Pigeons By - If you collect "Music To ..." and "Music For ..." records, then I know you're lookin' for this beauty.  At night, after his radio show, "Night People", Father Robert Owen digs Chicago-style jazz on the side.

Choice cuts: Squeeze Me, Fidgety Feet, Night Pastor Blues

Teen Age Dance Party - Gee I feel swell since my lobotomy scar healed up!  I can hardly wait till the music starts!  Note the couple in the background wearing "dungarees" - this was before jeans were invented.

Choice cuts: C-Jam Blues, Wiggle Walk, Pony Tail

Spectacular Accordions - And you probably know just how spectacular accordions can be.  Another miniaturized lady cover, this time wearing white heels and grooving to that spectacular accordion beat.

Choice cuts: The Hot Canary, La Cucaracha, and Under Paris Skies

Havana... 2 A.M. - A pretty girl, an acoustic guitar, a bottle of wine - of all the simple joys we know, what surpasses these?

Choice cuts: Malaguena, Bolero Mallorquin, Rosita
